Here are baby pictures of me and Brenden. Can you tell which is which?
We Are Home!
We came home yesterday afternoon from the hospital, and everything is going well so far! I split Brenden’s page on AndyBox.com into two pages, pre-birth (the old page) and post-birth (new stuff with pics). I’ll try to get some more pictures up soon as a photo gallery.
Introducing Brenden Matthew Box
Have $200K to Burn?
Entrepreneur Richard Branson and aerospace genius Burt Rutan have unveiled the “mother ship” for Virgin Galactic, the world’s first “spaceline”. The White Knight Two is a specially designed dual-fuselage aircraft that will carry a small spaceship called Space Ship Two up to about 50,000 feet and release it. Space Ship Two will then launch its own rocket and reach a height of about 62 miles (about 327,000 feet for you aviation junkies), technically entering space and giving its passengers 5 minutes of weightlessness and a heck of a view, according to the report. Sound fun? It sure does to me! Unfortunately the cost right now is around $200,000. =)
Muppets do Soulja Boy
You might think the Boxes are sitting around doing nothing while we wait for Brenden. But NO! Instead we’re spending time searching the Interwebs for entertaining material. Today I have not one, but TWO versions of the Muppets doing Soulja Boy. Check ’em out:
Push the Baby Out!
Still no Brenden, and we are growing impatient. =) From a job perspective, though, God has worked this out nicely. This week I was scheduled to work Monday night through Friday night. Knowing he could come at any time, I was afraid Jenny would need to go to the hospital while I was at work, possibly forcing me to leave early, or in between shifts, forcing me to call in sick. In seven years of working at SWA, I have NEVER called in sick. I’ve been sick, but it’s always been on days off. I was certainly willing to break the streak, but I preferred not to because it would cost the company a lot of money. I tried trading off my final three shifts with no success. For whatever reason God has, Brenden is still cooking, and I’m about to finish my final shift at 7:00 this morning with no additional shifts to pay back later. Ahead lie 2 weeks off for me to wait with Jenny and then take care of them after he is born.
Jenny is having contractions, but we still can’t tell if they are real or false labor. Time is running out before the doc heads to Vegas, and if he hits it big, he could decide not to come back! Jenny has told Brenden in no uncertain terms that it’s time to come out, but I don’t think he’s getting the message. Maybe he’s a strong-willed child like I was. We’re walking, we’re walking, and we’re walking, but it’s not working. She’s taking red raspberry and primrose oil supplements and drinking red raspberry tea. She got a massage, including work on the ankle trigger points that supposedly can induce labor. We had Taco Bueno for dinner Thursday night. Anyone have any other ideas, other than sex (none of your business) and castor oil (don’t give babies laxatives before they are born)?
