For those of you who use an iPhone, Droid, or similar smartphone, I have added a plugin that formats my site for easy viewing on your phone. On an iPhone, AndyBox.com looks like an iPhone app. You lose the sidebars and navigation menus, but the blog posts work great. I hope this helps.

Comment Ratings
I added another feature: comment ratings. In the same way you can anonymously Like/Dislike a blog post, you can now Like/Dislike the comments on each post. Naturally, it’s always nice to get replies to the comments as well to promote discussion, but I know sometimes all you want to do is give a thumbs up or thumbs down. Happy voting!
Mobilized!
For those of you who surf the interwebs via your mobile phone, I just added a plugin that makes AndyBox.com easier to browse that way. It strips out the sidebars so that you just see the blog posts and also makes them appear in a readable font size instead of making you zoom it. For me, it provides a mobile admin panel so I can blog and approve/post comments through my phone. If you post a comment using a weird name, this should help me approve your comment faster. I hope this helps some of you.
Website Upgrade Coming
UPDATE: After much frustration, waiting, tinkering, and prayer, the upgrade is done. So far the only casualty is our Facebook statuses. I MIGHT be able to bring them back, but Facebook has recently made some changes that make it much more difficult to feed statuses to other sites.
========================================
I have a confession to make that won’t be a surprise to many of you: I don’t actually write the code for this website. With help from Jenny, I write the stuff you read and also do some of the formatting, but everything else is produced by the software that runs the site, WordPress. After putting it off for a year, I plan to finally upgrade this software on Monday or Tuesday during my break. The upgrade is a bit complicated and risky, so I’m a little nervous.
If all goes well, you shouldn’t see any significant changes at first. I’ll just have some handy new features for producing the site. If something goes wrong, the site might be unavailable for a little while or possibly a long while. At least you’ll know what happened. =)
Traffic
Wow!
I use a WordPress plugin to track my traffic – which posts and pages people view most, which links they click, and how they reach my site. I average around 100-150 different page views per day. Wednesday I had 830 separate page views. The traffic spike resulted solely from my nudist resort post, which is also one of the most commented posts I’ve ever written. I guess that one got people’s attention! =)
Thanks to everyone for visiting my site. I can’t tell you how much fun it is to know that people around DFW, Texas, and the rest of the world actually read what I post.
Surprise!
I decided it was time for a new design for AB.com. This is one that I’m playing with. One of my goals is to add a third column so the extras on the side are easier to see. I also added a feed of Jenny’s Facebook status. Over the next few days I’ll probably keep tinkering with it since I haven’t decided exactly what I want and like. Please post your thoughts, whether you like the new design or hate it. Thanks!
