I am a servant of God, husband to Jenny, and father to Brenden and Jonathan. Those are my most important roles and relationships. Other hats include dispatcher for Southwest Airlines, small group leader, blogger, and friend.

I’m 32 years old, and I am quite happy with the way my life is turning out so far. I’m excited about the future. I love my family and friends. I live in Euless, Texas, near DFW airport. I am married to a wonderful woman named Jenny whom I met at church. We have two boys named Brenden (born July 2008) and Jonathan (January 2010). I work for Southwest Airlines as a flight dispatcher. We have a min-pin/chihuahua/dachshund mix named Holly and a cat named Jedda.

One of my main life philosophies is that there is good and bad in everything. You must decide which to focus on, and that choice will play a huge role in determining your happiness. I am a Christian and have been since 1992, although my journey with Christ has been a roller coaster ride at times. My relationship with Christ, although far from what it needs to be, affects every area of my life. I believe life is a time of constant learning and constant change. I am less idealistic than I used to be, but I still dream of leaving the world a little better than I found it. I want my life to mean something to other people. One of my dreams is to make lots of money so I can give it away to struggling college students and other people less fortunate than we have been. God has blessed me with far more than I could possibly deserve, and I try not to take that for granted. I try to appreciate the little things in life more and not get stressed out about everything, because life is hard enough on its own.

I’m very analytical and practical. I’m happy when things make sense and work efficiently, whether something meets the status quo or not. Pretentiousness and vanity irritate me. It’s hard enough just to be real, so don’t waste your time trying to be someone you’re not. I hate being the center of attention and prefer to sit back and listen to what you have to say. I enjoy learning and challenging myself. The world is a huge and fascinating place, and I’ll only get to experience a piece of it during my brief years here.

My Myers-Briggs personality types is ISTJ, the Inspector, which means that I’m analytical, structured, detail-oriented, dependable, and self-motivated. I love people but need lots of alone time. Highly independent. Shy but friendly. I enjoy challenges and goals and hard work. I love to learn if the subject interests me. As a perfectionist, I am my toughest critic, but try to cut myself some slack. When I feel comfortable with you, I am goofier than I seem to those who don’t know me well.

I do lots of things with my free time…working on this site, hanging out with Jenny, taking long walks, singing whatever random song happens to be stuck in my head at the moment, playing video games, watching movies, listening to music (everything from Metallica to Mozart), running, tennis, reading, and spending time with friends and family. I used to write poetry, stories, novels, and screenplays, but these days most of the writing I do is for my website.
